Gonorrhea is caused by a bacteria called Neisseria Gonorrhoea. It has been shown to lead to still births or to children with compromised abilities to function well. Some children are born with conjunctivitis or blindness due to these infections which could be prevented by taking the simple measures available for treating common vaginal.
Syphilis is also another form of sexually transmitted disease caused by a bacteria called Treponama Pallidum. If untreated, it can also affect the baby causing heart, eye or brain infections. Vulnerability to syphilis can be influenced by other vaginal infections.
